Happy Hour productions started filming on a new feature film 'The Game'. As our university (Boomsatsuma) is partners with this company, a handful of students were given the opportunity to sign up and assist on the filming as a runner.

I was very lucky to be able to take the place of a student who was supposedly meant to be runner for the production however was unable to due to a personal matter. On my day of being a runner I was able to be based at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol where many other big productions such as Tipping point, the Spanish princess and many more TV and Film productions are home too. I had the fortunate call time of 12:00 AM which came as much of an surprise as I was preparing myself to be given the common filming call time of 05:00 AM.
Through out the day I was able to get a good look around the set, meet all of the cast and crew who were helping out on the day and provide a hand where ever needed.
Later into the night after lunch we began filming outside with swat team, swat vehicles, FBI agents, Oregon police, an American ambulance and paramedics in the alleyway and watched the swat team brake down multiple doors for a raid scene.

A couple day later there production was in need of multiple runners for a night shoot on location in a empty Bristol office space in the city centre which was transformed into a police station interior filled with lots of props such as files, papers, mugs, trofie's, phones, desk chairs and fake computers. During this day we had a large size cast as well as extra's who were playing the role of police officers which I was fortunately able to stand in as a back of head for a single shot.

When the production came to a close Happy hour made a statement saying '"We want to help get the next generation of filmmakers into the industry. The boom students turned out to be such an asset to our film crews on several commercials that I invited them to come and be production assistants on our feature film, The Game. Each student got at least 3 days of work experience each, mucking in with all departments; art, lighting, camera and even stepping in to be stand-ins/extra! The whole crew was extremely grateful for every single one of them, without their hard work we wouldn’t have been able to make the film that we did'. -Happy hour productions -Will Davies (Production manager)

From this work experience I was able to learn a lot of new skills that I will be able to use for the future going forward when looking for jobs in the industry and this is something that I am able to be proud and fortunate to of be apart of.
