The short film 'ON MY LEVEL' is now officially in post production in London following a 4 day shoot in multiple locations down in the south west.

Writer and director Grace Morgan made a pubic announcement on June the 5th of this year to her social media page to raise awareness of the production preparations and brought attention to a Indiegogo page that she was able to create in order to gain money to go towards the filming fees.
With only a week until production started, the Indiegogo page closed before it made a total of £625 out of it's £500 goal. 

Production started on the 4th of August 2021 taking place over serval locations in the south west, typically 8am to 5pm for most days. Filming would later concluded only three days later on the 7th of August before heading into post production. 

On my level had fantastic support from both YoungMinds and Ben Kinsella Trust throughout and aims to help raise more awareness for important topics such as mental health and knife crime.

In a talk with the director and writer ,Grace Morgan herself was able to discuss the original ideas of this short film and how it came to be, saying ' The first draft of the script was written late 2019/early 2020. However I picked up the script again in February of 2021 with Jasmine whom I had met on the BFI Academy and Somerset Film course. We ended up writing 14 drafts of the script before we were one hundred percent happy with it. The script got sent to a few professionals every few drafts so they could give us feedback and advice. I also sent the script to a family friend who works for a local mental health charity called In Charley’s Memory to make sure we had those aspects right.' 

In the past Grace Morgan first wrote and directed a short film for her GCSEs for film studied which helped her gain experience and knowledge of filmmaking, directing and writing scripts for screen. Despite the arrival of the global pandemic Grace was able to push on with yet another short film idea which she was able to write a direct over zoom called 'Gone solo'. As Grace is very passionate about acting herself this was something she could star in alongside co actors Haleem Clift and Immi Timmis for this short film.  

I was very fortunate to be given the role of on set photographer and story bored artiest for this short film production and work along side a fantastic small production crew. I was able to experience first hand what its like on set through the challenging and creative environment.
