This course is structured into a four day week. In addition to being taught in our creative hubs, this degree places you at the heart of Bristol, a UNESCO City of Film, where you can be responsive to industry dynamics, to learn relevant skills and build your networks.
Our industry partners include The Bottle Yard Studios, BBC Factual Bristol and Films@59, meaning your teaching will be informed directly by Producers, Production Managers, Directors, Production Designers, Cinematographers, Sound Recordists and all of the their departmental crews to guide you through the reality of producing high quality work in actual scenarios. Alongside the practical, theoretical and technical skills you will learn, there will be considerable focus on collaboration, communication, soft skills and professional working.
The university is based in The Tobacco Factory, Bristol - a creative and innovative hub in the heart of the city. The building is one of the last survivors from the vast Imperial Tobacco site; saved from demolition by architect George Ferguson.
Today, it is a multi-purpose building that is home to not only boomsatsuma Degrees, but also a lively Cafe Bar, Makers Market, meeting spaces, the offices of several creative organisations, a performing art school. The building is also home to Tobacco Factory Theatres – one of the most exciting performance venues in the country.
